January 2017 Favorites

Well, somehow, we made it through this month. I have to be honest: at times its been a difficult one. There are a lot of things to be angry about, worried over, exhausted by...etc. Honestly, I think we should all give ourselves a pat on the back.

...So lets not talk about that, and focus on some good - the things I've been loving this month!

These heat holder socks. I was gifted a pair for Christmas and at first I wasn't sure I'd like them, because I can be a bit particular about fabrics, texture and all of that, but to my surprise, they're pretty damn awesome. They certainly hold the heat, and they're fairly cozy. I might even say that they hold the heat too much sometimes! Our winter has been fairly mild so far (you know, global warning and all that...), so if you live in an even colder climate, I think these would be even better!

I talked about making an at-home dupe for a Tim Hortons Ice Capp recently on the blog, and this Iced Java syrup from my friends on the other side (Canada, eh?), has certainly been a favorite for allowing me to create such a spot on duplicate. Next up...I'll try it with chocolate milk like I used to order it a million years ago! Oooooh. ^_^

I've actually done quite a bit of reading this month - eight freakin' books! For me, that's really really good! Out of all the books I've read this month, Born a Crime, and the March trilogy were definite favorites. Both of which I posted reviews of. :) Now that Grad school has started up again, I can't say that my monthly totals will be as great, but it is what it is!

This lotion from Jason has been a savior for my perpetually dry skin. The smell is incredible - I personally don't think all cocoa butters smell the same (or good), but this one is great. It's not too over powering but it really lingers on the skin nicely! It keeps my skin pretty moisturized too, which is obviously the more important factor! It's not too thick, or too greasy, and really sinks into the skin. It's replaced all of my coconut based lotions, which I think were actually drying out my skin. Has anyone else had that issue??

Last up is food. I haven't been all that adventurous this month, so I don't have too much to report, but I've discovered Vitacost gummy bears. I'm not really into sugary type candies, but every now and then I get a craving for gummy bears. I think these taste really great, without being super intense sugar wise. However, there is a bear in the bunch that I find tastes horrible. I end up playing gummy bear roulette, and the odds are not in my favour. Otherwise, they're great!

Okay, so that's what I've been loving this month - it's certainly an odd little mix. It's been an odd month. I'd love to hear what your favorites would be this month - feel free to share them in the comments!
