December 2017 Favorites

I don't know about you, but I am READY to bid 2017 adieu. It's been a long, difficult and frankly, shit show of a year. So I'm happy that it's now time for me to recount my December favorites. I thought about doing a yearly favorites rather than my monthly favorites for December, but I decided I'd rather talk about what I'm loving this month than trying to choose more "ultimate" favorites.

American Eagle Jeans - I used to wear jeans every single day. Then somewhere along the way I started wearing yoga pants and leggings a lot more. I attend school online, work from home, and as a spoonie, I don't always feel 100%, so I don't have too much need for dressing up. But sometimes I feel frumpy and I don't want to look like I live in my pajamas. I've tried finding the perfect jeans over the years and I've given up a handful of times, but I decided to give the search another go. I was inspired by Sarah Rae Vargas - who does these awesome try-on videos with different clothing retailers. She recently did one with American Eagle, which is where I used to get my jeans from years ago. I guess I just figured that they no longer had anything for me, and somewhere over the years, I just stopped shopping there. Well, I'm here to say that I was so wrong. I placed a pretty big order from them in November, and ended up finding my new favorite jeans. Favorite Jeans. That's something I haven't said in a really, really, long time. These jeans are so incredibly comfortable that I can actually forget that I'm wearing jeans. They make me feel a little more human, and I'll definitely be coming back for more!!

Sticking with fashion, I've also been on the lookout for the perfect hoop earrings for me. I've always had a love for hoop earrings, but I don't think I look that great wearing larger ones, so I've been searching for some smaller ones that I could wear as my everyday earrings. I found these Gorjana 'Taner' Mini Hoop Earrings and oh my lord...these are the earrings I have been searching for!! I mean, I've looked at so many retailers over the years and I've never found anything that fit what I envisioned in my head until I came across this pair from Gorjana. They're the perfect size and I absolutely love the texture they have - they're simple and minimalist while also being unique. This isn't the first piece I've picked up from Gorjana and I'm quickly learning that they're becoming quite a favorite of mine.

Green & Blacks Sea Salted Dark Chocolate - Since I've been avoiding dairy, I've been trying some different foods and while I don't have the biggest sweet tooth in the world, I do like some chocolate from time to time (she says as she currently has a chocolate bundt cake in the oven...). With dairy being a no, I've had to turn away from my favorite Dairy Milk (not made by Hershey's thank you very much) and find a new go-to. I picked up quite a few non-dairy chocolate bars from Target a few weeks ago but honestly, it was love at first taste with the bar I picked up from Green & Blacks. OMG this chocolate is incredible. It's creamy and has a wonderfully strong chocolate taste, and the sea salt is such a perfect addition. I've always enjoyed the salt + chocolate combo, but this bar gets the balance just right! I also love that they state that their cocoa is ethically sourced, something I always strive to look for. I will definitely be coming back for more!!!

I've also been loving yogurt from Forager Project. I posted a quick review of their cashewgurt that you can read here, so I won't go too much into it, but if you're vegan, or can't do dairy, I strongly suggest you give this yogurt a try. It's insanely delicious.

One thing I've been really enjoying adding to my cashewgurt is this granola from Kind. This Maple Quinoa Clusters with Chia is delicious on its own, or added to yogurt. I will say though, that I wouldn't call them clusters at all. It's pretty much just standard granola, but it's non-dairy and I love the sweetness from the maple, as well as the added nutrients from the quinoa and chia. :)

I mentioned this last month, but I'm going to mention it again because it's been a favorite this month too: Friends. I just finished going through the entire ten seasons of Friends and holy hell was that an emotional experience! I've seen so many episodes over the years - some a bunch of times, but never in order before. I have a lot of thoughts after watching the entire series and you can stay tuned for a more in-depth blog post coming your way this month!

Well, that's it for this month and the year. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and here's to an amazing 2018!
